Our beautiful surroundings - in and around Hambergen
The joint municipality of Hambergen lies on the western edge of the Teufelmoores in the district of Osterholz. Not far from the B74, at the Hamberger town exit, direction Lübberstedt / Beverstedt, you will find your holiday home, the "Pension Schneiderstübchen".
In our hotel you live in idyllic surroundings. There are large forest areas, beautiful meadow landscapes and, very close by, huge wetlands.
The joint municipality Hambergen with its associated municipalities Axstedt, Holste Lübberstedt, Vollersode and Hambergen extends over an area of 135 km².
In a wide cultural and natural landscape you will find peace and relaxation in Hambergen. In addition to agriculture, the area is characterised by numerous nature reserves. Hiking trails and bicycle tours lead through narrow mire trails and lonely paths. The cycle routes "From the Teufelsmoor to the mud flats" and "Grüne Ring" are leading directly through the municipality.
You can explore the vastness of the lowlands from the water with a trip in restored peat barges from Vollersode or Worpswede. Horsecarriages are available for leisurely excursions on land.
Contemporary witnesses, who go far back in prehistoric earth history, offer you a variety of information about life in ancient times. It was not until much later that people ventured into the Teufelsmoor itself.
Almost forgotten trades awaken to new life on the annual craft market. Of course, mire tours are also possible.
A moor cottage built according to historical models and a museum depicting the hardship of the peasants in the moor can be found in Hambergen - Ströhe.
Top-class theatre and concert events take place in Hambergen, in the "Uwe-Brauns-Halle".
Day trips to the artists' village Worpswede, Bremen and Bremerhaven are an attractive change of pace. Also Cuxhaven, with its beautiful sandy beaches directly at the North Sea, can be reached by car in about 1 hour.
You will find the only still functioning Smock mill in Lübberstedt. The mill was restored in 2003 and can be visited by appointment.
